Tip 01: Poor Puppy
Eating Habits
Young Giants can easily be distracted at their feed bowl. Their
natural curiosity and playfulness will lead them to everything
but finishing up at feeding time. One sure fire way to get them
to finish is to always feed them with another dog. Their natural
instincts will keep them at their bowl until finished.
Tip 02: Daily Jacket Care
You can keep your Giant in a great looking jacket whether you
are showing him or not if you'll invest 10 minutes a day
brushing out his coat with a good quality rake to maintain his
undercoat (we use Chris Christenson brushes) followed by a good
pin brush and a finishing
polish brush. The terrier palm pad cleans the hair shaft and
helps lubricate the coat. Note that Christensen's Terrier Palm
Pad has tapered and polished pins which prevent damage to the
hair shaft that other cheaper pin brushes can cause. The goat hair bristles on the finish
polish brush bring the natural oils to the surface and give the
coat a beautiful sheen. We also brush out the furnishings with
a good rake to remove tangles followed by the terrier brush. We follow brushing with a quality leave-in conditioning spray
with a sunscreen (to help prevent breakage and sun bleaching).
Our favorite leave-in conditioning spray is Chris Christenson's
Ice on Ice.
